THE STORY OF ROCKET LANDING
Recovering a rocket was once an extraordinary challenge — bringing a booster back to Earth, controlling its speed and direction, landing it vertically, and eventually using it again.
In 2013, SpaceX began flight tests involving the controlled descent and recovery of the Falcon 9 first stage.
Success did not come immediately.
Attempt after attempt followed. Some boosters came down in the ocean. Some missed the landing platform. Others came incredibly close, only to fall over or explode at the very end.
Every failure brought new data.
Every attempt moved the team a little closer.
After repeated testing and failure, Falcon 9 finally achieved its first successful return and vertical ground landing following an orbital mission in 2015.
But the story did not end there.
SpaceX continued pursuing rocket reuse, eventually flying previously flown boosters again and bringing them back again — turning an idea that once seemed far out of reach into reality, one attempt at a time.
What inspired me most was not simply the rocket itself, but Elon Musk’s persistence in pursuing a dream.
Fail, then try again.
Fail again, then improve.
If the goal is still worth pursuing, keep moving forward.
Inspired by that determination to keep fighting for a dream despite repeated failure, I decided to begin my own first attempt at creating a game.
And that is how Rocket Landing began.
It is only a small game, and it is my first attempt.
It may not be perfect. I may fail along the way.
But every dream has to begin with a first attempt.
